Re-Introducing Myself. Beyond The Real Estate Sign.

Re-Introducing Myself. Beyond The Real Estate Sign.

Hi. 👋🏼 It’s me again. Samantha. Sam. “The extra short REALTOR®.” “The design girl.” “The one always posting houses, renovations, kids sports, coffee, dogs, motivational things and probably a relateable reel every now and then.”

I realized recently that while I share a lot online, most people only know little pieces of me. So here’s the re-introduction. The human version. The behind-the-scenes version. The one outside of client appointments, renovations, and lockboxes.

I’m a mom to two incredible girls who are somehow already almost 7 and 10, which feels both adorable and mildly offensive to my emotional well-being. I’ve been married for 11 years to my husband Devan, who is my calm to my chaos and the person most likely to hear me say, “So I have an idea…” approximately 14 times a day.

We lived in Saskatoon for a short chapter of life before making our way back home to Regina. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that no matter where life takes you, home is less about the location and more about the feeling people create inside it.

Which definitely explains a lot about why I love both real estate and design so much.

To me, homes have never just been about square footage or paint colours. They hold people’s lives. Their hard seasons. Their celebrations. Their babies. Their grief. Their fresh starts. Their Christmas mornings. Their “we survived this renovation” moments. Their Friday pizza nights on the floor because the furniture hasn’t arrived yet.

That stuff matters to me. A lot.

I think part of that perspective came from losing my dad unexpectedly almost 12 years ago. He passed away at just 43 years old (I was 22 at the time), which is still difficult to wrap my head around. Losing someone that young changes you permanently. It teaches you, very quickly, that life is short and time is not renewable.

You stop caring so much about the dishes in the sink.

You go to the soccer game.

You stay longer at the dance recital.

You read them one more book.

You take the family trip.

You say yes to the road trip.

You stop waiting for the “perfect time” because sometimes life reminds you there isn’t one.

That experience shaped so much of who I am today. It’s why I’m fiercely dedicated to my kids and their sports and activities. It’s why I try to build businesses that support life instead of consuming it. It’s why connection matters more to me than perfection ever will.

These days, life looks busy in the best way.

I’m training for my first half marathon, which feels empowering and slightly unhinged all at once. Race day is approaching much quicker than I am ready for, but the goal is to finish, and I know I’ve got this. I’m also joining soccer myself because apparently chauffeuring kids to sports wasn’t enough involvement for me.

I love being outdoors. Camping. Walks. Fresh air. Road trips with too many snacks and not enough organization. I love journaling, reading, creative projects, graphic design, web design, branding, and probably rearranging decor in my home for absolutely no reason other than “the vibe felt off.”

I also chose a sober lifestyle on November 6, 2023 - I really can’t believe it’s been 2.5 years. Sobriety isn’t always easy in a world where alcohol is deeply normalized socially, but for me, the clarity, energy, peace, and knowing I’ll never wake up hungover again has been incredibly worth it. I feel more present in my life, more connected to myself, and more aware of how much my body and mind benefit from that choice. That said, I have zero judgment toward people who enjoy alcohol. This was simply a personal decision that felt right for me and the life I want to live.

I love travel. Give me the mountains. Give me the beach. Give me both, honestly. My mind, body and soul feels rejuvenated after a trip.

I’ve been lucky enough to experience places like the Maldives and Hawaii, but I also still think Lake Louise feels magical every single time. I love hiking all day and lounging the next. Balance.

That’s probably the best word to describe where I’m at in life right now. I still work incredibly hard. I care deeply about my clients. I pour my heart into Willoak Homes, design, and real estate. But I also care about creating a life that actually feels good to live.

One where business can still feel human. One where clients become friends. One where people feel safe texting me stressed out about an inspection or excited about a paint colour. One where I can show up professionally while still being fully myself.

Because the truth is, you’re not just hiring a REALTOR® when you work with me.

You’re getting someone who cares deeply. Someone who will educate you, advocate for you, laugh with you, probably send voice notes that are too long, celebrate with you, and remind you that buying or selling a home is a huge life moment, not just a transaction.

I’m not perfect. My life is not perfectly curated. Half the time I’m balancing client calls with soccer schedules and forgetting where I put my coffee.

But I’m real. And I think people are craving more of that these days.

So if you’ve been here for years, thank you. If you’re newer here, welcome. I’m really glad you’re here.

I’m Samantha. REALTOR®. Designer. Creative brain. Sports mom. Big feeler. Professional over-thinker. Lover of homes, connection, road trips, good design, and building a life that feels meaningful from the inside out.

Sincerely, Samantha
